So cool to hear youâve got an MPC LIVE! Hope you love it. Iâve had the original one for a few years now and itâs one of the best things Iâve ever owned :) super powerful!
I found the Microfreak fairly intuitive but as I'm in learning mode already am going to do some proper tutorial learning with that next. The T8 looks like a lot of fun!
After reading this - I thought of the Beatles Helter Skelter but with the words Not a Sponsor - "You may be a company, but you ain't no sponsor! Not a Sponsor (deer-neer-neer-neer-neer-neer-neer), Not a Sponsor (doobie-doobie-deer-neer-neer), Not a Sponsor (deer-neer-neer-neer-neer-neer-neer)" I have a Behringer RD-6 and it's definitely meant for live, on-the-fly drumming - although it's good for a steady beat and it doesn't intimidate me to learn. I usually begin with a the recording the drum/beats, so if I get comfortable at the controls - I can customize the sound as it goes so as not be redundant (I keep it simple, but I can use semi-big words like Redundant). As far a sampling - HA! I once had a Roland Dr. Sample SP-202...which sounds like the beginning of a poem. It played samples backwards, that was a rabbit hole I went down. The reason for my "HA" is that I recently recorded an instrumental song and used my old faithful cassette tape recorder as my "Sample" machine - little quips and pieces related to early computer voice synthesis.
Itâs really great that youâre expanding your palette so much. I can relate to the frustration of having so many ideas - Iâm trying to dismantle my perfectionism so I can work faster, and Iâm also trying to be much more careful about which songs I choose to fully produce

no the original MPC Live, so I guess the MPC Live 1?! Haha
I admire your tenacity and your work ethic! Purely selfish of course, I want to hear the results of your endeavours x
I will be offering a way to hear it next week, funnily enough :) watch this space xo
Itâs all healing in its own way. Even buying cool electronica on the interwebs! I did and I canât even play the damn things (yet).
I couldn't til last Monday! Thank you for the encouragement x ps what cool electronica have you got waiting for you?
Arturia Microfreak and an Moog Mavis with a Roland AIRA T8 on the way. Deep learning required. Might even read the manuals!

Oh this all sounds very fun. BIG fan of backwards samples, me.
Cool. I think I had one too many cups of coffee with my last comment. Yep.
No such thing!
Jon Makes Beats is so sweet. Can't wait to hear more of what you're cooking up!!
Yay, thanks Seth!

This all sounds very smart!
